Sublimation Printing

Bright, detailed sublimation printing for compatible polyester apparel, performance wear, team gear, and full-color designs.

Full-Color Printing for Athletic & Performance Apparel

If you are ordering polyester performance apparel and want bright, detailed color, sublimation may be the right decoration method. We offer sublimation printing for businesses, teams, schools, events, and organizations in Brick Township and throughout Ocean and Monmouth Counties.

Sublimation uses heat to transfer dye into compatible material instead of placing a layer of ink on top of the fabric. It works especially well for performance shirts, team apparel, polyester polos, event wear, and other compatible products where you want a smooth, full-color result. Fabric content and garment color matter, so we’ll check both before recommending sublimation. If the item is dark, cotton-heavy, or otherwise not suited to the process, we can help you choose Direct To Film, screen printing, embroidery, or HTV instead.

What to Know Before Choosing Sublimation

Fabric Composition

Sublimation performs best on polyester or polyester-coated materials. Standard cotton-heavy garments are not a good match for the process. We check the fabric content before quoting so you are not trying to force sublimation onto the wrong garment.

Garment Color

Sublimation dye is transparent and does not print an opaque white base. White and light-colored garments generally give you the most predictable color. If you want to decorate dark apparel, we’ll point you toward another method.

Artwork & Coverage

Sublimation can reproduce detailed full-color artwork and gradients cleanly on compatible material. We review your artwork, garment construction, and placement together so the production method matches what you actually want to create.

Sublimation Printing FAQs

What is sublimation printing best used for?

Sublimation is commonly used for polyester performance apparel, team gear, athletic wear, event apparel, and other compatible products where bright, detailed color is important. It can be especially useful for artwork with gradients or several colors.

Can you use sublimation printing on cotton shirts?

Traditional dye sublimation is intended for polyester or polyester-coated surfaces rather than standard cotton. White or light-colored polyester generally gives the best result. If your garment is cotton, we can help you compare Direct To Film, screen printing, or another method.

Does sublimation printing work on dark garments?

Not in the same way it works on white or light-colored polyester. Sublimation does not print an opaque white base, so the garment color affects the design. Dark apparel is generally better suited to Direct To Film, screen printing, embroidery, HTV, or another compatible method.
